Gypsum is a mineral that can be used to plaster the walls. It is commonly used in interior plastering. To some extent, it has replaced the normal cement plastering and has proved itself to become a replacement for cement.

Even though it is easy to apply when compared to cement there are some points that you have to remember when applying it.

So here we will see how to apply gypsum plaster on the wall.

As you all might know that gypsum plaster comes in a ready mix bag which can be applied to the wall directly.

• Before applying gypsum plaster to the wall make sure that all holes or cracks are fixed.

• Then use bonding agents to create better bonding between gypsum plaster and the concrete.

• Check the thickness of the plaster and make sure that it is not more than 15mm to 20mm.

• Apply Gypsum to a solid surface with firm force.

• At the point when the plaster is adequately firm, wipe the surface with sponge and water as required.

• Then after plastering the wall make sure that it is not continuously exposed to the moisture.

• Apply within level strips which Ensure line & level surfaces.

• Before painting you can use sandpaper to give it a good finishing.

• After making sure that the surface is completely dried you can start the painting work. It might take around 30 minutes to completely dry up.

Here we have seen how to make and apply gypsum plaster properly to the wall. So next time when you use gypsum plaster you remember these points for smooth and perfect walls.
